Mario.. without a doubt.
Mario was is a much better franchise. You're also asking an American audience. The only people who actually still watch Pokemon and play Pokemon are little kids. Theres no appeal to an older audience. Where I believe Mario can go to all audiences with its easy to learn and play games. Everyone can play, and as you go both adults and young people are challenged by what the game has to offer. I dont think there really is a need to ask which franchise is better. Mario will always kill Pokemon, in my books, any day.

as in why the hell do i sink 300 hours of my life in a game( an amazing game nonetheless) maximazing my pokemon stats and making the percect team and then 3 years later a new version of pokemon comes out, there a new attacks that leave my so called superior attacks in the dust. that spawns an endless cycle of gotta catch 'em all and gotta be a pokemon master

Lol, no thats true. How I was thinking about it, was more that theres a larger audience of young kids who enjoy Pokemon more. Really, I should have said only. I was thinking also in terms of markets. In America, Pokemon isnt as popular as it is in Japan. It's amazing how many people still play pokemon now over there.
