I'm glad some people stepped in and voiced some rational opinions (Mr bubbles, Largedarryl to name a couple)  rather than just looking at the pictures of the furry things with big eyes and calling the hunters "monsters". 

Seal hunting is no different from commercial fishing or hunting wild game.  And they don't club the little white ones.  They're too young.

I had (may be it was my sister who owned it) a cute baby seal stuffed animal with lush white fur when I was little. I could never club a seal :(
Unless I was threatened to be killed or something if I didn't. THen I probably would, but it would scar me.

And even then, they are killed for a loving, providing blubber, skin, bone, and meat for sale.

 

Well I thought I saw somewhere people consider it a sport. I think its stupid still, we don't need seal meat to live. People can go eat something else. Killing these things is 100x the difference of killing a chicken for food. But there are babies that get killed for their white fur. So that means when they have their white fur they are either 0 days old or as young as 2 weeks, and they are being slaughtered for nothing.

its like any slaughter house, except conducted on the ice.  so if you are going to cry....dont be a hypocrite. stop eating all meat, dont wear any animal products, dont have anything to do with anything that comes from an animal.

 

How often do you hear people say that they eat seal, compared to beef and chicken? It's way different, we don't need to eat seals to live IMO.
