Here in Newfoundland a lot of people rely on the seal hunt for their livelyhood. They hunt ADULT seals using GUNS for FOOD and not theit PELTS! I can't wait until I can sink my teeth into another flipper dinner. Now everybody run off and eat your fried chickens that were force fed in tiny cramped cages while looking down on me like bloody idiots.

It's tastier, healthier, more humanely killed and had a better life than what's on the menu at any restaurant.

Opinion. I would never eat seafood, especially from a seal that was one playing on the ice until some big bad person came and murder them.

It's better than a chicken stuffed into a tiny cage, being force fed until its life is ended by a mass slaughter. Sorry but it's painfully stupid to think it's more humane to eat something that was raised in captivity as opposed to wild meat. Our farming and raunching practices are cruel and barbaric when we should be getting meat in the natural way we did for hundreds of thousands of years.

So you think its humane to kill someone with a baseball bat by bashing its head in. LMAO If anything I think the chickens being force fed have it easier than those poor tortured seals.

How is this even a rebuttal? I don't care to change your opinion. I just care to show others that these people aren't the barabarians that you claim them to be.

You didn't answer my question... As someone mentioned to you earlier. Many cherish the cow and forbid the killing and eating of it. Because you eating it goes against their beliefs, does that make you a murderous, satanic, evil, nasty monster?

Well Cows are eaten everywhere,  how many people can say they've eaten seal. I stick by my opinion that eating a seal is the same as eating shit and piss.

Cows are not eaten everywhere, another lie (or sad, sad ignorance). And how does the amount of people eating something justify it's 'murder'.

By that same logic, we should have stopped eating cow when it first started to become our food, as very little ate it at that time. Those barbarians!!

Well most places eat cow. Where don't people eat cow?

Devout Muslims don't eat beef, vegans don't eat beef, Hindu don't eat beef, people typically in the arctic do not eat beef.

...That's equates to a lot of people. But you've dodged the more important point. Why does it matter how many people do it? Because it is more popular?

Also:

"I just think people are protecting it cause they like the taste of seal meat"

Two things:

  1. I've never had seal meat before, I've never even had moose meat before (which is hugely popular in Newfoundland). Like you, I can't bring myself to eat something that I'm not used to and didn't grow up with.
  2. So what if they like it? You like beef, so you eat it.

Not everyone is muslim and hindu though. It's really cool that they stick to their beliefs and don't eat cow and pork, my hat is off to them for that cause thats what they believe in.

But I just think eating cows it way differrent than eating a seal. Only like 2 places eat seal, I've never met anyone that eats seal, and I've never been to a resturaunt where seal was on the menu.

1. Moose meat is fucked up too.

2. I don't snack on it constantly and I don't cheer on animal killers for it though.

Looking at some general percentage graphs, and then making some assumptions about diets for several African countries, I'm going to say there is probably roughly 1.5 times more people that do NOT eat cow, compared to people that eat cow.  This means you are actaully in a global minority with your pro beef opinion.

1.  Moose meat tastes great

2. And people that eat seal meat snack on it constantly?

Well its probably the most popular meat.

1. Ew

2. If they rely on it so much.

Their is no excuse for this kind of ignorance coming from a person who has Internet access. Seals are killed with rifles and hakapiks in Canada, get your facts straight.

"According to recent studies done by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), the hakapik, when used properly, kills the animal quickly and painlessly."

Further studies carried out American veterinary scientists indicated the same thing. I can't imagine a blow from the hakapik being anything but instantly fatal.

Do you really think they are running around with baseball bats when kiling these seals?  Presently, I would say close to 0% of Canadian sealers are using a long stick to kill the seals.

A hakapik is not the same a baseball bat.  You make it sound like they regularily are hitting the seals multiple times in order to "finish it off", which is another lie you are attempting to glorify as a talking point.
