i know...but as we don't have any HW datas for the last 4 weeks from gfk it's the the only chart we have available right now.

 

besides this there's no way GFK charts are "more official" than Nielsen charts: they're both made by professionals that get paid for their work (and actually for the records,  Nielsen Italia is way bigger than GFK Italia: 70M Euros vs 16M Euros operating revenue last year)

@celine: Nielson charts are pretty good. They don't have as much coverage (40%) as GFK (90%) most of the charts provided by both companies are quite similar.

If we have to choose there is no doubt that GFK is better but as we haven't got GFK hardware for some time we should go by Nielsen.

Yup, I was refering to covering percentage. I hope we get the usual update for July , the Wii could surpass PS3 ...

In the case of professional tracking firms there isn't right or wrong ( almost ).

However Nielsen figures are for only the week ended 3 August while figures I posted are for "July" ( 4 weeks I think )

EDIT: BTW Wii LTD didn't surpass PS3 LTD in Italy yet.

Where do you take that info?The PS3 is afte this data quite above the 360...its selling 1 PS3 for each 3 DS sold while the 360 is only selling 1 360 for each 5 DS sold.Nearly double ,in fact.

@celine: We got more data from Nielson for July. I'm not sure if in all weeks but in most 360 was ahead of PS3.

278,5k consoles were sold in Italy in July 2007. Applaying this to 10,75% growth in volume and give ratios we got following numbers (in thousands):
DS - 148
PSP - 53,03
Wii - 44,67
PS3 - 22,38
PS2 - 20,59
360 - 19,73

However those numbers do not correspond with percentage change given in your post (compared to either June 2008 or July 2007). I was also trying to figure out numbers from 2008 totals but it is not possible with given ratios (there is contradiction in data: one could not get those ratios for 2008 with given ratios for July and Jan-June numbers we have from prosugno).

So basiclly take the above numbers with knowledge that there may be something wrong and maybe there aren't correct.
