Forums - Sony - DLB on why 2008 will be the year of the Playstation 3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLBNZrz-lRU

Advance this to 2009, and it is the same arguments being said now.  Even the dicussion of the price cut on the PS3 to be $299 and equal the 360 in price.  The video was done in 2007, and made these predictions.

Sales wise, 2008 wasn't the year of the PS3; however, it was game quality wise. Too bad most of those games weren't big name games though. But in 2009, the PS3 has both top quality games and big name games: Gran Turismo, Uncharted (is becoming a big name), God of War III possibly, FFXIII in Japan leading into 2010 with even bigger name games and better games.  Final Fantasy XIII in the States, Final Fantasy Versus XIII probably in both the States and Japan as an exclusive, Trico, Hideo Kojima's Special Project, Sly 4, Ratchet and Clank Future 2 or Resistance 3, LBP 2, Jak and Daxter:  The Lost Frontier, maybe Shenmue 3 on the heels of Yakuza 3.

Heavens to Murgatoids.

It does show the dangers of the prediction business. A large number of games he stated were for 2009 never came out, and the top hitters in 2009 weren't even announced then. There was no mention of Gears 2, for example, and the next Call of Duty, set in WWII wasn't announced either. Fallout 3 might of been hinted at also. A number of titles you mention are likely 2010 and beyond.

And now, in January 2009, we see the same things again.

^ Great.....now ps3 fans are listing the games for 2010 too.
Are you kidding me?
I have NEVER seen so much "wait until..... __(insert game)__ ....bulls*** in my whole life.
Seriously the constant listing of future games, many of which aren't confirmed for that timetable, is getting BEYOND ridiculous.

Just pointing out the most probable lineup.  Don't worry MS will probably have a big game:  Gears 3 for the Next Box in November of 2010.

I actually had seen this in the past.  It was by owners of the Atari Jaguar on Usenet.  Rumors of Electronic Arts putting their titles on the Jaguar, Battlesphere, and Defender 2000 were all awaited with eager breath and believed these developments would end up making all the difference in the world.  How do I know?  Well, as a person who had fond memories of Atari, and was an Atari fanboy back then, I practiced this.  First it was the Lynx (another eagerly awaiting titles system) and then the Jaguar.

Your posts are just getting more and more trollish. No 360 fan is "worrying" we have just as decent a lineup. and Yeah its getting pathetic to list games years ahead.

Every year seems to be the new "Year of the PS3"........I am still waiting........

I'm noticing that the 360 and Wii haven't got a clear road map in terms of games for the next year but what ends up happening as it did with the 360 and PS3 last year is that the PS3's lineup disappoints as the titles that are known slip but the 360's line up seems healthier as there are no slips, only new announcements.

It'll happen again ths year too. Wii will get some great game announcements through the year, the 360 will have a huge E3 where Microsoft will reveal the entire 2nd half of the year and some of early 2010 and
Sony will have release dates and new footage of games they announced 5 years ago*

I don't want to hate on the PS3, it's a great system and I personally find its controller easier to use than the 360's but I think Sony are doing a terrible job right now..

*actual time may be shorter, a lot shorter
