what about UK? :(
$29.97, deal is up now.
Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

Is it a possiblity Live is going to drop down to $30 a year? If so, real good deal. Hell $30 is still going to make MS a lot of money. They should just drop it to $30 a year.
I've seen this $30 deal three times (Wal-Mart, Amazon and some other site. Newegg or buy.com?) so maybe a price drop is in the works.
It's just that simple.
MS is probably offering dealer incentives to push live subscriptions after Christmas. Lot's of new xbox owners might not have bought a subscription, and a lot of subscriptions need renewal around christmas.
More importantly, we have a trustworthy spy over at the Amazon warehouse. :)

Not as Gold Box. While that's a major price-drop, I expect it'll go to a Gold Box sale sometime this week, and sell at even less. The amount that we shipped this week is way too much for just a price-drop - they've gotta be having an advertised sale for that amount.
Besides, two days is nowhere near long enough after I see it at my building. See, my building does "delayed replenishment". Amazon has a whole mess of warehouses that ship directly to customers. My building ensures those buildings have product when customers go to buy their products, so it can be shipped out to them immediately. This is how Amazon is (usually) able to ship things out quickly.
My building ships to Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Allentown/Bethlehem, Lexington, Louisville, Indianapolis, Chicago, Reno, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. It takes about two to three days of driving to get from my building to Phoenix, Vegas, and Reno. Thus said, they simply can't put it on sale until at least Tuesday, and they really shouldn't until Thursday - they need to give their stock time to get to the FC warehouses.
So, yeah. Maybe I'm wrong - maybe it's just their price-drop that they were getting ready for. But they're not really advertising that; it's not one of their Gold Box sales. That tells me that they likely won't be selling as much as they just shipped. They've gotta be getting ready for something bigger. I'm thinkin' $24.99 or $25.99 on the Gold Box sales page this Friday.

I'm going to trust you and wait till Friday. Hopefully it won't go up instead of down until then.

The Top seller on Amazon for all Video Games (yes, all) is the Xbox Live 12+1 card. It might not last until a goldbox deal.
I can't see the deal getting any better then it is, it's almost too good.
I'll keep an eye for when my order actualy ships from amazon to know if it's old or new stock.
Maybe Xbox live price drop? They claim 10M paying customers, that's large enough where you can afford a price cut to lure more people to sign up.

These cards have been $30 at different sites for a week or so now, so I wouldn't be surprised if the price for the service drops in the near future. Either that, or these companies are getting rid of old cards that say they expire soon when they never really expire.
