Forums - Gaming - Atari as a game developer?

I've never really seen it discussed here much, but what are people's thoughts on Atari as a third party developer? Excellent? Good? Mediocre? Sub-Par? EA Level? They come up as almost a non-issue of discussion this generation so far so I was kind of curious what everyone thought about them?

Atari arent as bad as EA but they dont make alot of titles and the quality is lot lower to what it used to be.

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

I don't know if I own any Atari/infrogames(or whatever they were called) games. So kinda hard for me to say.

I wish the original Atari was still around though. Maybe Bushnell will start a serious third party game company called "Bushnell FTW Games" or something.

"I feel like I could take on the whole Empire myself."

It seems like the name Atari is cursed or something. First, the original Atari falls due to getting too greedy after being sold, then the new Atari makes serious losses, very bad games and has been on the edge of being thrown off the NASDAQ a couple of moths ago.

The only good thing they did was Rollercoaster tycoon (2), when they were still infogrames. The third part was a lot less fun IMO.

Isn't there a band named Atari? I was hella confused when someone wore an Atari shirt and when I commented on it they said "Yea, they are pretty sweet. Shame the radio never plays their songs."

I was like.... uh, what?

The Ataris, yeah. One of my favorite songs from them is "The Hero Dies in This One"

Well I'm not really too steeped in the land of Atari's (or Infogrames), library of games these days.

I for one, know that I've been enjoying the hell out of Dragon Ball BT:2 for Wii though.

dbz BT 2 i'm pretty sure it's namco dev ???

as for atari well infogram I use to love alone in the dark....

I don't have any current atari products. I think the last one I bought was Temple of Elemental evil for the pc and it was crazy buggy. What can I say? I was on a Balder's gate II high.

I have heard decent things about DBZII Wii, I think I might get it. At the very least I see it as Gamefly fodder.

In my entire libary, the only game I can name off the top of my head that's post Jaguar era, is Stuntman for Playstation 2. I downloaded the Stuntman 2 demo for 360. Other than those 2, Atari is completely obvlious to me.

*Edit* After going though my libary, I realized that Test Drive Unlimited, a great MMO racing game for X-Box 360, is also developed by Atari.*
