It starts off exacly where F.E.A.R. 1 left off.
The first thing you might notice is the horrible controls. Not only is it bad enough that you have to use R2 to fire, but L2 is also used for aiming.
It still has the same horror feel as F.E.A.R. 1, using sudden pop-ups and other effects to make you jump. That, along with some a crazy-looking ghost that harrasses you abit - it's pretty awesome to watch. Killing enemies in this game is much satisfying.....very good animations and plenty of blood. The guns have a decent feel to them.
The graphics are pretty good, but nothing too amazing. There's a thing around the HUD giving you the feeling that you're wearing some kind of helmet, very similar to Metroid.
There's one thing I find really annoying: it seems that they did want you to feel like you're wearing some kinda helmet - the whole screen has this very slight yet noticable grainy static. They really need to adjust it because the way it is now, it just makes the picture quality look kinda bad.
I thought the best part of the demo was the last area. If you've seen any of the vids, you probably saw the drivable mech - yup, it's in there and it's a blast =p
The demo is just one somewhat short level, but gives you a really good idea of what F.E.A.R. is. I'm just hoping more control options are added in the final game =/
I'm gonna go give it another spin now.
