Forums - Sony - IGN:Best Bits of Killzone 2(Preview of Final Built)

"After years of anticipation we've finally played the final code for Killzone 2 through from start to finish. Naturally, there's a lot of stuff we're not yet able to talk about, due to heavy restrictions from Sony, but also because we don't want to spoil the game for you. However, what we can say is that PlayStation 3 owners are in for a treat come February, with Guerrilla's much-hyped shooter promising to blow all other PS3 FPSes out of the water. Here's why:"

Eye-Popping Presentation

Blood-Pumping Gameplay

Tools of Destruction

Killer AI

They better give it higher than a 9.5. Honestly, I think they overrated Resistance 2 by .5-.7 points, but they better score Killzone 2 higher to keep some sort of consistency between their reviews.

for some reason I see 9.1 .hopefully i m wrong

Currently waiting on : killzone 2 and everything else after it..day one purchase baby

I' d heared the same one month befor Killzone I was released. But I guess, this time it will be better.

Btw: the red eyes looks so awesome....no, not really-you can see this soldier 20 miles away...zip-headshot. Stupid-but cool (?) characterdesign.

And Killzone is one of the few games, where the antagonists are more popular then the hero (hero?), isn't it?

No, I don't want to destroy the hype. I also hope this will be a good game.

I wonder if it will sell well. I really thought R2 was gonna launch at around 600k~700k week one. Yes that game is past a million now but I thought it would at least cross the million by the second week considering it was a massive holiday season and it also got rave reviews. Sony may have hurt killzone 2 sales in the long run by over hyping it for too long a period of time and having a fake cgi e3 showing of it that got ridiculed by the gamming press. We'll see

@tacoboy^^^but as you read in the preview,,,the gaming press are now eating the crow for doubting the 05 E3 trailer:

from ign:

"Not convinced Killzone 2 will live up to that E3 demo? Wait until you see it in action. Seriously, Killzone 2 is without doubt the best-looking game on PlayStation 3, boasting some of the best effects and use of lighting we've seen not just on Sony's console but anywhere"

@tacoboy49
i dont thinkg R2 was hyped nearly as much as this
NOT EVEN CLOSE
this hype is on par with halo 2 and 3 level

Sony is still gonna have too pull off serious pr damage control to fix mis conceptions of it. Super PR that Sarah Palin could've used after her interview with Katie Couric

I'm seeing low 9s for this game, in general. Its been overhyped. It probably deserves a 9.7, but the over-hype-ness will yield complaints about the storyline, or co-op necessary for perfection, somesuch nonsense.
