Forums - Gaming - GRFX Comparison: Crysis and Killzone 2 - The BITTER Truth Finally Revealed!

The music in that link sounded like music from the Half-Life series.

I might have to find it again to see how far I can push the graphics again with my 8800gt now that I have the Windows 7 beta :P

I like the lighting with DX10, so much more natural than the game in DX9. Anyway, what specs was that person using?

When a game is seriously compared to crysis on ultra high by websites,,,you know it looks godly ;)

This, seriously.

  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

So, for the weapon shots, you pick one where the weapons in Crysis have an extra effect added, which actually has nothing to do with the details of the weapons. Then, you pick a Killzone shot where the iron sights are up so the weapon itself is blurred by a depth of field effect.

Crysis is the best looking game out there but there's some serious cherry picking going on in the shots you used.

well honestly it doesn't compare. Crysis has better physics than any game has dreamt of, it has open world gameplay, making the scale of the graphics amazing. It has huge draw distances, better textures, better AA and all at higher resolutions. Heck it even has better lighting on every object.

I think that's what alot of people forget. The sheer scope of Crysis. Even if KZ2 managed to get close in fidelity of it's character models, lighting, and textures (which it's not) it's going to be on a much much smaller scale than crysis's gigantic open world. KZ2 looks great on PS3, but it's tech just isn't in the same league. Even if comparing guns makes it seem so.

KZ2 also uses ray-tracing not even your powerful Crysis can do that.

And that article fails on so many levels its insane.

are you trying to imply kz2 is in any way superior to crysis?

Yes i am.  Killzone uses features that Crysis does not.  Real time ray-tracing is something Killzone2 does and Crysis does not.

care to explain what that is?

Heh, my joke thread on the NEO GEO gets locked because ""a giant pile of flamebait."" yet people can come in here and keep posting crap which will reach up to 10 pages.

Just another example of Vgchartz Mods keeping the my black reptile brothers down.

Ugh, excuse me while I beat the dead horse in the back.

Crysis looks better overall, yes, but what's with the small images to compare with? Also, is that an image of Far Cry 2 for the third comparison? I had no idea Killzone 2 had a grassland level. Also, I believe the gun model image they used for Killzone 2 was from 2007.

The grass land one where they compare the environments is Crysis, not KZ2 or Farcry it's Crysis, the people on that blog are retards so many of them were saying it was farcry, why?

Yeah sure Crysis wins hands down, but how many people can play at the best PC resolution. Ps3 owners can enjoy great quality without major upgrades.

  Unleash The Beast!

End of 2011 Sales: Wii = 90mil, 360 = 61mil, PS3= 60mil

Too bad its not fully ray traced and too bad you really don't understand what you are posting. :D
