I think that's what alot of people forget. The sheer scope of Crysis. Even if KZ2 managed to get close in fidelity of it's character models, lighting, and textures (which it's not) it's going to be on a much much smaller scale than crysis's gigantic open world. KZ2 looks great on PS3, but it's tech just isn't in the same league. Even if comparing guns makes it seem so.

KZ2 also uses ray-tracing not even your powerful Crysis can do that.

And that article fails on so many levels its insane.

are you trying to imply kz2 is in any way superior to crysis?

there are so many people in this thread that are simply ignoring facts

Killzone 2 comes nowhere close to Crysis and I bet you GG would say the exact same thing

Is Killzone a VERY good looking shooter / the best looking console shooter? Yes

Is it ANYWHERE CLOSE to Crysis on Max settings? Not by a mile

i bet half of you people touting crysis have never even played it on highest settings. well i have and it does not look as good as that jungle image in the op. nowhere nere. possibly in the cutscenes almost but thats it. killzone 2 and crysis are comparable in my opinion. the thing with crysis is not so much the graphics but the epic scale of the landscape.

I haven't read the entire thread yet, BUT.

Killzone 2 is a far better game and I believe in the graphical department as well.

Crysis may have a lot of technical prowess above the PS3 but we need to consider a few things here.

Killzone 2 is being optimised to be played on big Plasma and LCD Televisions with resolutions between 720p - 1080p while Crysis is made to run at super high res for various monitors up to 2560x1600.

The pixel density and style on a 1080p television is completely different to that of a PC monitor.

To me Crysis's art style is missing 'atmosphere' while Killzone has atmosphere coming out it's ass WAYYYY more atmosphere and way more 'stuff' going on all the time.

The picture that is supposed to be Killzone with the shack on the stilts IS actually from FarCry 2 - you can see the african content shape in the yellow circular area on the side of the tent.
