I am fine with that, I think WII may be the first to launch a new console in the next generation

Third party developers would have a stroke if Microsoft released a new console any time soon. They probably wouldn't even support it because of the massive expense

I hope nintendo waits as i think the wii is pretty good enough right now.

if they release an pimped wii with hd visuals will it maybe kill alot of the competition.
Just look at how it sells without hd visuals.

This generation is going to be a long one. All the consoles hvae done really well sales wise and I think we're going to see it continue as the companies try and compensate for the bad economy by holding off on the R&D for the next gen.

We have at least another 3 years with no consoles on the market, good amount of time for Sony and Microsoft to claw back some profit.

For me I think the 3 system approach is working well. The Elite needs to be were you find all the cool new stuff and this needs to be periodically lowered down the food chain.

An Elite with a BluRay/HD DVD combo drive, MAssseavee Hard drive, Integrated Wi Fi, Vision as standard, Super quiet, Super cool running, Gadgets as yet unleashed.

I think also in the future free Hard Drive upgrades to Arcade users would be cool. Plus at some point live should be reduced in cost significantly. I would also like to see my Live cash spent on more dedicated server farms for better and more stable games online.

To be honest with you with getting into the slim360 you could still do a hell of a lot more with the 360. I cannot wait tis very exciting even more so if the console is allowed to mature in this manor.

Agreed.  I'm having tons of fun with my PS3 and the predicted 5 year console lifespan gives me a measly 2 more years until the PS4 comes out. Thankfully, Sony also says they have no plans for a PS4, either.  Maybe I will have a chance to get a PS2 afterall.

actually, nothing can be added to the Xbox360 except motion-controls and blu-ray, so gamers do not need an upgrade in the near future

btw, a Wii 2 announcement with HD graphics closer to Xbox360/Ps3 would easily kill the competition but still, the competition is already dead O.0
