What Hi-Fi are you running at the moment? We currently flip between an entry level Rega and a mid range Naim setup. The Rega doesn't even deserve to be in the same room as the Naim though as it sounds shit in comparison(my opinion). If you get the chance you should listen to a NaimNet system as it's the best sounding digital audio library on the planet.
OT:
I use FM quality to rip my CDs as ipods are shit anyway and I can't really notice that much difference through cheap crap headphones.
