Forums - Microsoft - Mass Effect 2 (2009 RPG of the Year) will be at GDC in March.

Cool. Good thing they're fixing the frame-rate/texture issues, and repetitive side-missions. Can't wait.

Side-note.

I played the game, almost to completion, and it isn't in my top 5 (They are, in no particular order: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Gears of War, Halo 3, and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune), but it is a hell of a game. Top 10 or 15 maybe (It's been a good generation so far :P).

Sweeeet. I'm thinking of buying Mass Effect on Steam - worth $30?

There aren't many people that play this game through that don't have it in their top 5 games of this generation.

Or higher.

I wouldn't say that. That's a really bold statement talking for everyone else. Personall, I wouldn't put it on my top 10 if it even made my top 15. And I don't think me not putting it in my top 5 makes me the minority like you would suggest. Furthermore, it's not even in the top 5 games this gen on metacritic. Is it even in the top 10? I'm too lazy to look. I will say this, it was a very good game, possibly my favorite WRPG this gen behing Fallout 3 and maybe Oblivion. I found it a lot better then Fable 2 though. It had a lot of glitches in addition to the framerate though. But what gave me a distate the most were the copy and paste bland side missions. I'm very much looking forward to the 2nd though. Day one buy from me. Exspecially if they fix the side missions. If they do that and improve a few other things then it will probably be in my top 10.

But the majority of gamers don't have access to the complete top ten of Metacritic do they?  I'm a very hardcore gamer and I don't have regular access to a PS3.  The vast, VAST majority of Xbox 360 owners do not have access to another console from this generation on a regular basis.  You on the other hand, have a PS3, Xbox 360 and do you also have a Wii?

I understand that some PC gamers aren't as impressed with the game as Xbox 360 owners were generally speaking due to the graphics being less impressive by their standards and a wider back-catalogue of RPG's, but this title is awesome.

It's still not top 5 according to metacritic. And neither is it on my top 5 360 games.

My top 5 would be:

1) Gear 2

2) Bioshock

3) Fallout 3

4) COD4

5) Left 4 Dead

I will concede this though, it would most probably be at #6. So you wouldn't be too far off then. ;)

A gaming pc is the only thing I don't have, so I wouldn't know.

But again, I have high hope for ME2 and I'd bet money on it being even superior to the first.

By the way, it's the ranked the top 20th game of this gen not counting games with the same avarage rating according to metacritc. Hardly in the top 5. But then I was just disproving your statement. But yes, I bought the game for $60 and I would suggest to anyone they buy the game at that price. It was a great game.

I hope we get some new info on this game. I can't wait! :)

EDIT: Yes, I also have a wii, a DS and a PSP. ;)

Well there you go.  You have much higher access too games from this generation than almost all other gamers.

Ultimately neither of us can prove our points.  But I was just pointing out that few Xbox 360 gamers think this title is anything less than steller except from the frame-rates and cookie-cutter side quests.

I think you found a middle-ground I can agree too

Very excited for ME2. Although Fallout 3 bumped ME out of my 'favorite RPG of this gen', ME2 is very anticipated by myself :)

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

It's definitely on my top 5, actually I love Bioware period. I would be on cloud 9 if they released a sequel to Jade Empire or Knight of the Old Republic.

I went back and finished ME today, I had finished it on my old xbox360 but it never carried over to my new account. It is a good game and I loved it.

I can't wait for ME2, it should kick a lot of ass.

RPG of the year???

GAME of the year!!!

Day 1 purchase for me. Even though Bioware has been going downhill for years mass effect was still a very good game.
