@ kasz: and the other way around of course :) It's not like this site only harbours LBP-lovers ;)

but if many games suffer from this, then we're in for quite a ride the coming weeks :p

There have always been discrepancies. It's not going to be different from any other month.

yes but like the other guy said to me the lbp numbers has already been fixed down like twice during the holiday months and now again? and by 500k isnt that like to much?.

This kind of thing happens quite frequently, but in the majority of cases people don't make a big stink about it if they take notice at all.

mmm i see well right now we should just wait until more information appears and see what are the real numbers.

Oh yeah.  COD was off by like... a million i think.

Kaz is not going to undersell his product. The most likely case is that VGChartz over tracked the software. That happens: it's hard to track.

I mean LBP was overtracked so many times, people should not be suprised that would be overtracked.

This is has turned into a "he said, she said" (or rather, this site said, that site said)

I know a lot of you want LBP to "fail" though, so I understand why you're so adamant

Actually, if anything I think it's a lot of people wanting LBP to succeed, which is why people are so adamant defending it. If the game weren't exclusive, would people care so much about this?

It can't be denied that Kaz's quote is a pretty solid argument for LBP being overtracked. I wouldn't say it's definite, but it's certainly not something that can be ignored.

It's so hilarious that everyone is rushing to say how horribly tracked this game is, but whenever NPD numbers come in, no one can say anything about over/under-tracking.

The lengths people go through to downplay any Sony success makes the people on this site look so sad.

DMeisterJ: according to NPD, LPB is over tracked here.

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3171875

Adding up VGC's numbers for the US for Oct/Nov NPD period puts it around 428K compared to 356K NPD numbers.  More than 20% over tracked for Oct/Nov.

This is what's being reported. Decide for yourself.
