Well, I personally consider myself as a "gamer" and I've been gaming since the late 80's (Played Super Mario Bro's For the first time back in 1989) . People who have to label themselves as "hardcore" are most likely the one's with social issues, the people who spent their lunch break in the library, you know, the kid who sat quietly in the corner and didn't talk to any girls, so now they try and build up their self esteem by labeling themselves as a "hardcore gamer".

i take the question to mean the first time you realized you were an addict... for me it was when i had marathon sessions of Quest for Glory III or Ultima IV, playing 8 hrs straight sometimes... oh that's sad =( or hell, maybe even the day i discovered TRON for my Atari...... oh how i lovvvvved that game @kyliedog, great answer XD "My name's ViZuNaRy, and I am a video game addict."

Lmao, I guess I can say that I'm an addict too, we'll start a support group

The day I realized that I had about 20 games pre-ordered at EB. They printed off the upcoming lists for the consoles I have and I brought them back the next day with check marks beside the one's I wanted. $100 just to pre-order. What was I thinking.

The day i got my original NES, I spent all day playing Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt.

I miss my Duck Hunt =/

wii play says hi (there are ducks but no dog sorry).

The dog is what made it memorable =/

And frustrating at the same time, man I miss that game.   That would be my only motivation for getting a Wii, to be able to buy all of the old games again.

Ever since i clocked in @ 174 Hours + on Final Fantasy VII back in the PS1 Slim days.

I think it was when I played FF8. Not because it hard, but because it wasn't the kind of game I'd usually play.

I pretty much only played racing, sports and fighters before then. I had no idea what I was missing D:
