Oh yeah, that still is like one of the worst threads ever to come on to this website.

DTG is a failure altogether imo. He actually claims that the story is the most important part of a game. I'd rather play Obscure: The Aftermath, Baroque, Red Steel, Soul Calibur: Legends, and Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire in one sitting than play the conclusion to some crappy series that he worships so much.

DISCLAIMER: I like the first three I listed. Sorry if anyone took offense to my insult of the series DTG worships... Oh boy, CGI-Quality, OkeyDokey, blazinhead89, and SHUMPGurus are all going to get me good for that...

Haha, I'm honored that you remember my view on the Metal Gear series! Now, I wrote big paragraphs below, but it's not to particularly defend the Metal Gear series. It's about being a gamer. Please read! xD

So... Please, don't diss a game (or series) because it reminds you of people you don't particularly appreciate (not just over the Internet, friends as well). Enjoy games because of what they are, not because of the hype and all.

I have a simple example here: I didn't like the idea of LittleBigPlanet because of DMeisterJ's "It will be huge" propaganda. I hated this sentence so much, that I wanted the game to fail so he could shut up (sorry DMJ, no hard feelings?)! So when I rented LittleBigPlanet to see what it was, I must say now that I'm glad I decided to just forget about what he was saying, because I think it's one awesome game (not huge, awesome). It was good to remove the "fanboy" glasses!

Wow... I care about people over the Internet! o_O

I have to say this though, I think Metal Gear Solid 4 is overhyped, but not for the good reasons. The game is good to people who already cared about Metal Gear for the past few years (and not just some random PS3 fanboy this generation). With that said, it's important to give credit where it's due. ;)
