Ok I'll go first!
Definitely check out Marvel's 1) House of M and Civil War sagas if you haven't already. Check out Ronin by Frank Miller. Cool shit. Check out Danger Girl by J. Scott Campbell. 2) Kingdom Come is a must read simply because of the fantastic Alex Ross artwork. Same thing with 3) Marvels. 4) Preacher is a necessity. 5) Stranger in Paradise is cool. It's kinda like a comic strip you'd find in the Sunday paper, but heavier.
Now your turn!

1) Meh. I have been mostly a DC fan all my life, but I read this ones. Awesome ideas, but poorly executed. Civil War 1 was actualy great but just kinda went downhill after. I have stopped reading both Marvel and Dc comics. I had to stop for a couple of monts because due to work issues and couldn't care to get back. That tells how bad I think they were getting.
2 and 3) Awesome!!!! Specially Kingdom Come (I am a DC fan after all). Life should be drawn by Alex Ross
4) very goo and funny but too preachy (no pun intended
) sometimes. Not to mention, I didn't particulaly agree with some of Enni's ideas. In fact, Ennis should have his head checked.
(Read The Boys if you disagree)
5) Read a couple of issues and really didn't like it.
Now, my turn:
+The Walkind Dead (Kirkman)
Powers (Bendis - especially Vol.1)
Alias (also Bendis - especially the last arc)
Daredevil (Bendis's run)
+Superman - Secret Identity (my 2nd favorite Superman Story)
All-Star Superman
DMZ (Brian Wood)
Jack of Fables (Fables spinoff)
Criminal (Brubaker)
Sleeper (both volumes - Brubaker)
+Batman - The Dark Knight Returns (Miller - I don't recommend The Dark Knight Strikes Again - I found it horrible)
+Daredevil - Born Again (Miller)
Gotham Central (Rucka/Brubaker) - Gotham through the life of cops instead of Batman. Awesome stories.
There's a lot more but this should keep you busy for a while.
PS - The ones with + are the ones I think you should go first.
