Forums - Sony - PS Home needs massive work.

So I spent about an hour on PS Home last Thursday. Here are some of the things I got from My experience.

1) Communiction is flawed. - I used a keyboard and the communication was atroucius to say the least. Hey, Sony unless someone is in the Convo I'm having with someone should I really be seeing what others are saying?

2) Everyone seems to have their own agenda - During my time on I saw people sellings things. Such as go to my site. I saw pervs tring to start convo with kids 15 and 16 years of age. And of couse people just dancing and so on.

3) Loading environments is painfully slow - This has been mentioned 100 times. For an environment to load everytime you go in or out is terrible. Has Sony ever heard of Cache?

Those are just some. There are a few people on HOME trying to make it work. I had a few decent conversations and played a game. Cool but there is still lots of stuff missing or that need work.

I give HOME a 4 of 10 for now. That is up from my initial 2 of 10 the first time I used it.

well son, i cant blame you, the other day it took my friend forever to reinstall gt proloug on his system so we can play, in fact it took so long i just left lolz, anyway anyone who has a ps3 should expect the worst and hope for the best.

Sorry, but Sony should not focus any more time and money on Home. They should leave a very development team on it and move on to other things. Home will be nothing more than a glorified chat room/social site, which is fine but it is not the selling point of the console anymore. Even Google tried this and realize it wasn't going to work out with its Lively world. Its was a nice ideal but it was built up way to much and really hasn't had much of a focus, especially after Phil Harris left.

I'm just saying...

Agreed. Sony should move on to better things and stop spening money Home. Spend the money on (maybe) another franchise like "God of War" :)

as has been stated by sony, they've brought in more money through home the first four days, than the first week of their video service.

If that trend keeps up (or tracks decently according to them), there is no point in them leaving home behind. It is meant as a cashflow and as an addiction for some. If they manage that, they won't leave it (nor should they if they want some money out of it).

Never said they should out and out kill it.  One they come too far to do that and two Sony as company is too prideful to admit defeat on this project.  I am just saying, they need to accept it as what it basically is, a 3D chat room and stop trying to make a focal point of the system.  Yes its a feature, but no better than having a web browser, Life with Sony,  PSN Store/Video Store, and a video chat room.  Their focus needs to be getting this console to the large mass consumer market, matching Xbox Live blow for blow, and most importantly, finding software (games and non games) compelling in the various markets.

Welcome to the internet. :P

Btw, you can directly phone people if you have a headset.

Some things Sony could do to make Home a better place:

1. Hire moderators to roam around each section of Home. We can keep this stuff out of VGChartz, and they can keep this stuff out of Home.

2. Provide more content to give us a reason to enter Home! More places like Sully's Bar. Plus, the more places there are, the less crowded each place will (hopefully) be.

3. Optimize the engine to decrease loading, instead of optimizing to make things look prettier. Things look good enough as it is!

Headset? What is this device you speak of. Oh! Headset the thing that Sony didn't include for free like MS did.

Seriously, I agree with your second point. Your third point ecos mine.
