A smiley icon can speak more to insecurity than any collection of words.
I'd say you're projecting, but I know it's not true.  You have no insecurity about this; rather, you have all the certainty of a zealot that anyone who feels anything but disdain for the PS3 is in fact a fanatical Sony supporter.  Being yourself a fanatical Sony detractor, perhaps it's projection after all.

[edit:  maybe exaggeration, I don't follow you around, but it's how you've acted in this thread.  Maybe MikeB just put you in combat mode or something.]
So easily baited. Oh and a Zealott indeed, to suggest anything be amiss with the PS3 at all this generation does warrant concern now doesn't it?
I admit that I am easily drawn into debates, and some of these debates are in fact with trolls; are you announcing that you are one, and are crowing that you have ensnared me?  That's the best reason I can think of for the inverted logic and bipolar/black-and-white mentality demonstrated in your reply.
So you say you only argue with trolls as a means of calling me a troll.

And you call me bipolar, how nice, careful, not that there is a mod that would ban you over a debate with myself I'm sure, but it'd be a pity if someone reported you for such slanderous insults and name calling.

If you can't end a debate without name calling then I think its fair to say you've lost. Lost what you ask? Well you tell me, you're the one persisting in trying to save their face till the bitter end. Or perhaps you're just trying to build an ever larger text pyramid for the sake of show.
This is really becoming deeply amusing.

By "bipolar" and "black-and-white", I was trying to describe the mentality which would take statements like "not everything is true" and interpret them as "everything is false".  For instance, 'some people I debate are trolls' became 'everyone I debate is a troll'; 'the position that there is nothing good about the PS3 is zealotry' became 'the position that there is anything bad about the PS3 is zealotry'; etc.

If you object to the particular term bipolar, I would be willing to hear your reasons why I should consider an alternate term, but I stand by my intended description of what you are doing.  [edit:  If it's true, it's not slander.]

As for name-calling and desperate attempts at saving face, I direct you to the post which is now at the center of the quote nest.  I may be at fault for some strong words, but you have been the one to escalate things at every step, and you are the only one who has abandoned serious couterargumentation in favor of personal attacks.

If you want a smaller quote nest, trim it yourself.  So far I've done so several times, and you have not done so at all IIRC.

P.S.  If you're just having some kind of twisted fun by dragging this out for as long as possible and projecting your own excesses onto your opponent in order to have something to criticize, well, that would be more rational than if you really don't see these problems in your posts.

P.P.S.  Oh, and my question stands, as you have not offered any other explanation for your comment ("So easily baited").
My you certainly are defensive. I wonder if the amount of text you feel is required to salvage your pride is any indication of how much this bothers you.
I'm only trying to do a good job of explaining why my own position is correct and yours is not -- something you clearly feel no need to do.  And yet you continue to respond.

Maybe it's because you have a desperate need to "get the last word".  It's something I've been accused of, and not completely without merit since I usually like to respond to all rebuttals of my points.  But if you keep on making posts that don't really make any substantial counterpoint, I'm sure you can outlast me.
Yet does someone who responds everytime themselves have the right to claim the other person is the only one "desperate" to get the last word? Your maturity in debating here has degraded quite significantly, instead of recognizing the range of grays involving any truth you've adopted a stance of black & white yet try to condemn me of doing the same.

In stumbling over your own words I see your responses have also de-evolved into semantics for the most part. I've already made my case and a good one at that, if you choose not to acknowledge my points then that is not proof of my ineptitude to argue, just your own obstinance towards reason and logic. This entire long escapade has been little more than you cherry picking and splitting hairs, everytime I've gotten you on something you've simply defaulted to a new perspective on the matter or insisted it wasn't important. I have no qualms in seeing this continue because with each response your composure frays and you reveal more and more your true demeanor.

The reason I consider your responses potentially desperate is that you respond to my posts with little comments like 'you used a smiley, how insecure you must be' and 'lol, defensive' which have no purpose as far as rebutting anything I have said (and such comments in those cases constitute the entirety of your response).  Either you're just trying to bait me (and BTW I have yet to hear an explanation of that earlier comment that does not involve you implying you were trolling me) or you're trying to get the last word in without actually responding to the substance of my posts.  Anyway, that was only one of a few hypotheses I have floated as potential explanations of your behavior.

As far as me "not acknowledging your points", I would ask you to review this post and tell me what I failed to acknowledge or address.  In fact, your post is the one that completely dropped the points in contention, in favor of proclaiming me a blind Sony fanboy enacting frantic damage control.  And ever since, it's been you, not me, swerving drunkenly from one accusation to the next, never bothering to defend any of them and completely misinterpreting my counterpoints (whether by accident or design I don't presume to know, although as stated above I have voiced some possibilities).

For some time now you've been implying and finally stating outright that I'm losing my temper; it was never true, and it's not going to become true.  But if you still think my "slanderous insults and name calling" rise to a level worthy of reporting, don't hide behind insincere concern -- man up and hit that button yourself.

So you write all that just to basically admit you were wrong and now want to cop out of this? Man either you've got alot to convince yourself of in ths dillusion or you're hell bent on getting the last word.
