Forums - General - Youtube is Turning into a JOKE!!!

YOUTUBE IS TURNING INTO A JOKE I have had 4 copyright claims in 24 hours its insane As soon as i uploaded my new montage (Halo 3) as soon as it had finished it was pulled down for copyright, Youtube must now be checking every video as it comes in. So this means all Sony BMG, UMG and warner music will be gone within weeks, no more music videos unless they are uploaded by the company. So much for Broadcast yourself, you cant do barely anything except blogs oh joy. ive been a youtube member since july 2006 and since google bought it in winter 2007 it has gotten worse and worse by the month. Looks like stonj wont be uploading anything anymore unless they are all silent movies. What are your thoughts on this?

Yeah. Every Monday night, there were two guys (Saulman and the Shame) who used to go online and talk about WWE Monday Night Raw. They were really funny, and pretty cool. It became my Monday night ritual to watch those two after the show went off. It was just two guys sitting at a table talking about what they saw. Their account got banned twice! After that, they went on youtube talking about the episode, but did not mention the WWE or any of it's characters. THEY STILL GOT BANNED!! After that, they just said "fuck it". I miss those guys. Some kind of freedom of speech right had to have been violated.

I'm quite happy if all music videos are available free on youtube by artists and record companies (I don't pay for the music so not paying for the videos is great).

User created videos are as bad as Blogs to me and quite honestly I have better things to do than read the boring everyday lives of people I neither know nor care about.

Youtube is full of crap, but worse of all it's full of crap that has been uplaoded by users that seem to think they have some kind of talent.

I'm fed up of montages of people playing games or cut scenes from games set to music and the thousands of people sitting in their bedrooms recording themselves playing electric guitar thinking they have some real talent, well if they're that good get they should get off their arse and go out and do something with the skill!!

I remember being amazed at seeing some 5 year old piano prodigy on the TV but with your tube you can now see it's not exactly a big deal and there are literally thousands of others that have exactly the same talent, the only difference is the ones that succeed actually go and do something with their skill and not just post their boring, pointless videos on yutube!

Youtube was in its prime in 2006 since google bought it, it has gotten is deep sh*t its because companies know google has deep pockets

Its like those guys at Smosh if they made their first video the power rangers one and released it today it would have done very well as there are way too many videos like that now, the youtubers of 2004-2006 are the originals there is rarely something original uploaded anymore seeing as somewhere down the line everything is own by another company.

Soon i reckon youtube will ban you for swearing or having an opinion

That's gay.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
