Unimportant story:
I recently purchased Suikoden for my PSP and in the second village there is an opportunity to gamble next to a save point. Of course I took this opportunity to raise funds in order to buy the female character a pair of wing boots which would otherwise be unaffordable at this early a stage in the game.
Later in the game, I spend over an hour recruiting people, return to my castle (100 000$ in hand) and talk to the new recruits to see what they have set up in my castle. Well one of them set up a gaming table so I start a quick game before saving since the most I can lose is my 10 000$ bet, right? After a couple of double or nothings which would have netted me 600 000$, he lands a dice combination that requires me to pay triple, thus bankrupting me. Now I'm broke and I still haven't saved. So my broke self saves my games, then I'm forced to sell good virtual armour in order to bankroll my virtual gambling. I think I have a virtual gambling problem.
Question:
Do you gamble in games in order to have more virtual money?
Do you think it takes away the game's difficulty by giving you acces to such easy (riskless if there is a save point nearby) and quick money?
Finally, Can you spare a man some Suikoden $? I can feel that my luck is about to change.
