Forums - Gaming - I've always said that Road Rash would be perfect on the Wii.

The idea of using the analogue to steer and swinging the Wiimote to attack your opponents just sounds right to me.

But how likely is this to actually happen? EA's Wii strategy so far has been pretty casual/kid friendly, with their latest more hardcore game (Skate it*) failing to get much traction off the start. And while EA might be wanting to get a larger slice of the Wii pie, they might consider such a move a risk, and frankly, they're probably not going to take many risks right now.

So where else can I get my motorbike riding, opponent clubbing kicks?

Motor Raid!

The Sega Arcade game is kind of like Road Rash meets Excite Bike. I just played it in an arcade in Seoul and while it wasn't terrific, it doesn't have to be. It just needs to be an existing IP with a Road Rash like feel.  Because quite frankly, this game is more likely to get made.

Just look how Sega is treating the Wii. It's not only their primary console, but they're giving it adult/hardcore/gamer games. They're also reviving old IP's all over the place. And more importantly, they have experience developing high speed futuristic racers for Nintendo platforms.  F-Zero GX for the Cube is one of the best damn racers ever made. So Sega, why not revive an existing IP with terrific Wiimote implementation that draws on your existing expertise? Wouldn't it be nice if your 90's Road Rash rip off becomes the new Road Rash a decade later? I think so.

*I think it's EA's fault the game failed, but that's for another thread.

You didn't ALWAYS say that!! You just started saying that a couple of years ago!!

Road Rash was awesome. I can't get into that game though in the video. I liked Road Rash's real world feel and the mesh of cops and other cars on the road.

That game seems too empty.

Still, either one would be a great addition. I love beating people while I race.

I wrote up a huge piece about why Road Rash Wii would be amazing if including balance board support.

Really, any bike-racer should include balance board support.

I've been wanting a Road Rash Wii for a long time. I think it's time for all of us to write to SEGA and beg them to port this game to the Wii.

@ student, yeah, I'd rather Road Rash too.

But my point about Motor Raid was the arcade game itself is irrelevant. It's just an IP to work with now. Sega could just use that IP and make the game quite different. They could fill it with all kinds of crap. Future cars, future hitchhikers.
