Forums - Sony - Why does my DualShock 3 lose power even when it's not on?

I had a controller once that just refused to charge, so once it ran out it was gone. Maybe you have a bad one like I did (It was a SIXAXIS btw)

My SIXAXIS is another story.  It charges but I get an hour or two of play out of it.

If its happening with BOTH of your controllers you're obviously doing something wrong or your luck is just plain terrible. I just leave my controller plugged into my PC's USB port since its always on and charges the controller nicely. Personally, I get about 18-25 hours of play out of a charge with my SIXAXIS and maybe 4 less with the dualshock.

Nope (well none that live with me), only me and the wife that lives here and she wouldn't touch anything video game related with a 10 foot pole.

But aren't you video game related? :O

I've never had this problem myself, even my SixAxis that has been of for 4 (or so) months is still fully charged. Seems like you haven't been very lucky...

Are you waiting for your controlers to be completely drained out before putting them on charge ? Because if you do so, then it's wrong.

I haven't had this problem my controllers last for about a week. Even if i leave the machine on. Intensive play can bring them a few days but nothing as bad as your issue.

Check out my game about moles ^

Funnily enough this happened to me for the first time only two nights ago.

Of course, the ps3 was telling me to recharge the controller before I turned it off, lol.

What.... if it were a longer pole? >_>

Well this is a twesterm thread, for sure.

Maybe you have a faulty controller, or the PS3 knows how much you hate it and it does that to irk you.

Longer than 10 foot? Are you crazy? Poles that long can't be controlled by any human. To go near any object with a pole with a length greater than 10 would result in the imminent destruction of said object.
