I could afford all three consoles and came very close to buying a PS3 before I thankfully found a device that cost £80 and did what I wanted to get a PS3 for. But even if I had bought a PS3 I would still hate Sony like hell and hate myself a little for owning a PS3.

I don't think anyone (or many people) would hate a console because they couldn't afford it. At least no one on this site. Most people here have tons of games. If they really wanted another console so badly they would have bought less games for the console they have and used the money saved towards the other console. Maybe that may have been the case when PS3 was $600 but not now.

or maybe the consumer dislikes certain companies for numerous reasons?
