I won't go in too deep (click here for full story) but it seems like the only way to get the Killzone 2 demo is to either pre-order and put money down at Amazon.com or pre-order and put money down at Gamestop.

I'm just curious, when did demos stop being just demos?  I just want to try the game before buying it, not put money down to get some Home clothes or whatever.

I can only hope they will release the demo later so I can actually use the demo for what they're supposed to be for.

I believe the game doesn't release till like the 25th or something, so maybe they get the demo a week or two before it's PSN release. I hope.

I hope so.  The whole idea of putting money down on the game to get the demo is retarded. 

At least with something like Left4Dead they told you right away that pre-rders get the demo a week early, so far with Killzone 2 there's been no mention of that.

Ah, completely missed it (only searched the first page of Sony forums for Killzone). Point me to it and I'll gladly lock this one.

It's called a promotion and most likely (don't want to say certainly because some people will bitch) will come onto the PSN store a month or so later. This is probably like Qore but in stead it is a gamestop preorder and not Qore.

Promotions specific to different shops is very common now if not extremely annoying. Also this is a very big game, most big games ala Halo 3, GTA IV do not have demos as it forces people to buy the game and see how good it is for themselves. I am shocked there is any kind of demo at the time of the games release, I would have expected something like MGS4.

See this is what I hate about PSN as it currently is. A demo is supposed to be a trial of the game which will tell you whether or not you want to buy that game....WTF kind of dumbass idea is making you pre order the game to play the demo? Maybe just maybe if PSN had a few more demos for people to try they might sell a few more games. I know I personally have held out on several games because I am not about to spend 60 bucks on a game unless I have reason to believe I will like it. This is one of the most idiotic things I have ever heard
