In the latest Kotaku podcast, Valve writer Chet Faliszek has revealed that the studio will announce the first batch of Left 4 Dead downloadable content soon. Faliszek said that the announcement should be happening "shortly," since the news should have been out before Christmas, but for some reason the press release was postponed.

Faliszek confirmed that unlike Team Fortress 2 DLCs, Left 4 Dead downloadable content will arrive simultaneously on PC and Xbox 360.

My guess on the delay is that they weight till after xmas on purpose. Why announce something before the kids opened their presents on xmas day

I've said it before I could go on playing No Mercy VS for several more months and not get tired of it, but variety certainly wouldn't hurt.

I thought the hammer editor update for L4D was out??  Ok that is definitely a priority release if it's not.

I haven't heard of anything if so, I imagine there would have been a big stink when it finally happens.

I know you can make a map and save it so it works in L4D, but no official editor yet (that I know of).  I had heard it was supposed to be released early 2009.

They could give us 2 new campaigns to play offline and add the 2 origional campaigns missing from verses to play in verses, then when the 2 new campaogns have been played to death they could add them to verses too.

Left 4 Dead............... still my online game of the year....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is probably the wrong section to ask this question but since it's the relevant topic... Is PC version's DLC a costed item through steam? Or other method? Or will it likely be free?
