After seeing the sales for halo 3 no company can pass up another halo.

I believe them not making another halo is bull. But I do think the next official halo game will be on the nextbox.

What do you guys think?

An internal M$ studio is most definitely making the next Halo. Only question is when and on what platform it will be released.

I see the next microsoft platform with full 360 backwards compatibilty...so possibly it may be a launch release on both platforms?

I think it would be Bungie, why would they switch devs? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

there was news 6 months or so ago of Microsoft stealing key people from companies to start their own internal division for Halo 4 development. I think this way, they can let bungie do their thing and not put a gun to their head to make another halo game if they dont want to...

Yep, that is why Bungie let M$ have the rights to Halo.

Well I don't know if it's accurate or not but this is what Wikipedia had to say:

"As outlined in a deal between the two, Microsoft would retain a minority stake and continue to partner with Bungie on publishing and marketing both Halo and future projects, with the Halo intellectual property belonging to Microsoft"

Doesn't that mean future Halo projects will be developped by Bungie?

It won't be Halo 4. It'll be something like Halo: Salvation or Halo Begins.

If MS is smart, they will solicit one of Bungie's NEXT projects and aim it for a Nextbox launch release. We're talking 2012 (I firmly believe that) anyway, so there are PLENTY of years between now and then to design and create a quality next gen launch title. I wouldn't be surprised if Rare is also working on some cross-casual experiences for the Nextbox as well.

Folks, MS is here to stay and if this gen is any clue, they are learning more and getting better each time. And since they will likely NEVER be on top (you never know, though), they will always work harder than Sony and Nintendo and that's always a good thing for us gamers.

I hope not. Personally, I think the series needs a break.
