Forums - Sony - Farewell Folklore. *Another Overlooked Franchise Bites it*

Usually I gotta say that yeah Game Republic games arent that great.

But in my opinion Folklore was a definite exception.

Shame the timing wasnt just right... Getting released at the point where & when was really suffering under harsh and tough media, basically everyone wrote it off as a failure. The slow start off on the PS3 had its consequences.

^- still though, the game was great, its sales for some reason was very, very low.

kinda odd really, it was so low its disturbing.

Yeah that's true.  It's no secret that I am sceptical of the PS3's ability to sell RPG's relative to the Xbox 360, but I don't think this game is representative of that: it's not as bad as it implies.

As much as this game is meant to be far from great, it's not as horrendous as it's sales suggest.

Mhmm, but yeah we both agree that sales does NOT = Quality of the game. thats just silly.

In my opinion though the game was infact a great ARPG, the only thing i didnt like was the fact that it didnt take not even 25% of the power of the cell, there were many folks on screen at once in certain areas but nothing spectacular if you know what i mean.

The bosses were epic but lacked epic and fair feel, sometimes it'd last to long, others would be to short.

All in all though, Folklore was my first game and personal first Next Gen ARPG, and this news is really disturbing, to bad. :/

Too bad, I rented this when it first came out after playing the demo, loved it. I would buy it, but they won't drop the price! Maybe they would have some sales if they stopped trying to sell a game almost 2 years old that bombed for full price.

QFT!!! i dunno why they did this, if they dropped it to 20 dollar i bet sales would take off after mouth of word, folklore could have been quite possibley been Sonys LO if it was done right from the begining.

*sigh*

On the bright side, cant wait for White Knight to hit the states. :P

If at first you don't succeed, you fail

Sorry for this, i have Folklore and It was a wonderfull game.

No people rather buy the same hyped junk over and over and over again. Folklore is one of my most favorite PS3 games as it has amazing graphics, wonderful atmosphere and an amazing story, plus Brave Story on the PSP should have been released in Europe. It was meant to doom in the US. And what a BS about the price, a) you buy it if you like it or not and b) check Ebay, there you'll find the game cheaper.

And thanks for killing another game because it wasn't bloody enough or wasn't a god damn shooter.

*Claps* Well said, very well said. if only people and the devs would understand this more offen.

Thats a pity. I hope they continue the trends they have begun on the PS3 with folklore and dark mist, both games have simple but fun and addicting gameplay.
