Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank Future, Little Big Planet and Metal Gear Solid 4 define the PS3 for me. Though if you're going strictly by sales, I suppose you could put up the original Resistance and Motorstorm titles.

When I think of the PS3 and games, I think MGS4 and LBP. But I don't own a PS3 and I suspect that PS3 owners will be able to spit a few more out. I also think that a lot of people's answer will be based on sales.

I didnt mean sales really altough it does determine games really I suppose.
You know the way gears and halo automatically say 360 which ones say yeah PS3.

I think some of those games still aren't out. God of War and Gran Turismo define PlayStation to me more than some of the others I've listed. GoW III and GT5 will both be out this year on the PS3.

Some games that used to define PlayStation for me are no longer exclusives (timed or otherwise) - games like Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry and Grand Theft Auto.

Sony's defining game is Gran Turismo, and the main game hasn't been released yet.

The thing is, the PS brand was mainly defined by third parties (though the PS1 did have Crash / Spyro), so Sony doesn't have games that will be as popular as Gears or Halo. I think they're trying to correct this, though I'm not sure they'll be able to pull it off.

MGS4, and when it arrives, GT5...nothing else defines the console yet

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

GT5 is the big one of course and that's about it, GeOW has done well but it id not well known unlike Halo.

Established IPs: Gran Turismo, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet & Clank, Singstar (although I'm not sure if the latter one has the same appeal to its fans it once had).

New IPs: Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Resistance, Killzone.

I think the most important IP for Sony is still Gran Turismo.
