Games like halo3, fable 2, mass effect, lost odyessy, Forza 2, viva pinata 1 and 2, Gears 1 and 2, etc. help the 360 become a software beast.

The wii

Your mom might buy a wii and realize video games are enjoyable and not poison for the mind or just violence. They might consider getting them a video game as a gift every now and then.

Xbox Live

They advertize games like hell on there. They tell the people what discounts are available. You can also talk to your friend and see what they recomennd getting.

The economy

It's not so great at the moments so people are staying in their houses more and more so they buy video games to keep them ocuppied.

Bundling

During the Christmas season the 360 is bundled with many great games for families to enjoy, that is another reason the 360 has a lot of games sold.

Great 360 pricing

The cheapest 360 costs 200 dollars, families can buy a 360 (that comes with 2 free games) with 3 additional games for the price of a ps3. That persuades people buy a lot of games with their hardware.

I have both the 360 and PS3 running on a sony bravia 40" 1080p tv. I tend to rent multiplat titles on the 360 because most of the time they look and run better. But comparing the same games you can see the diffence. e.g 'GTA4' ps3 version looks blurry and only runs at 720p while 360 version is upscaled to 1080p and just looks cleaner 'Hells highway' is the same.

i have a 360 all the things u posted up are indeed great. i enjoy everything that 360 offers

only thing which ticks me off is im on my fifth xbox360 now. havnt had any issues with my wii or ps3. soo i have added five to the tally. im not a xbox hater im just sayn it would be gd if the hardware was more stable. i have had too many friends get burnt over the three rings of death.
360 is sitting in a great position atm they needa keep it going.

wow, you didn't even put in the most important reason. The fact that it launched a year earlier...

hardcore gaming has its home, and its called XBOX360...

Is that really that important of a factor? I don't have numbers but did the Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast have great attach rates in comparison to competition? They were also on the market first and something is telling me that probably none of those had better attach rates. I could be wrong though.
