Forums - PC Discussion - Call of Duty 4 (PC) Community Question

I've been wanting to pick up Call of Duty 4 for myself on the PC, but it's been full price since it launched. The holiday sale on Steam made me curious so I started to check around at other stores when I came across Gamestop's site last night and noticed that it's available at $30.

It was fun when I played online when I rented the PS3 version, but I'd rather be using a mouse and play in servers that support more than 18 people (though not TOO many as to overcrowd the maps).

I'm wondering though, is getting into this game going to be worth it after a year? Are there many good servers or is much of the community doing annoying things with stupid server settings, gameplay rules, and cheats?

Can anybody tell me how the online community is with COD4?

I've heard some complaints about it, but I've also been playing Counter-Strike for years and have dealt with it's problems (like finding out that there are hundreds of sound files that were forced to download in your steam folders).
