I agree with the OP. TS it, remove the UMD and use more energy effiecient board. Also add a text editor and keyboard in a sane location. that way I can do programming on the go. I will be happy.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
Bah they'll do it for the next PSP I'm pretty sure. I dunno if it will be usefull for gaming but it will definitly be nice for the music and video functions!
| The Anarchyz said: They have to kill the UMD all together... Handheld gaming has to be efficient in energy, noise and loading times, that's why it's called portable... And the UMD drive cuts in those areas... if you don't believe me, use a hacked OS, dump the UMDs in a Memory Card and play from there, you'll see the difference... |
If you think about it all of nintendo's handheld competitors were more clumsy, big, and had less battery life. Basically they had things that the general public didn't want. Competitors need to learn from their mistakes.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Exactly, it's still impressive that the PSP passed the 40 million mark, when every competitor had struggled to sell a few millions (Game Gear was the only one to ever get near 13 million), but if they really want to enter in real handheld competition with Nintendo, they have to think about what the general public wants in a portable system...
And go full frontal with nintendo??? No I don't think so! They should simply improve their PSP, taking no risks! Better graphics, better online capabilities, trophy support, friend list, touch screen for music/video applications and maybe a sensor stuff (like the Iphone), it will be good enough!

how is it impressive??I mean yeah it has done great but compared to other playstaion products its a disaster(ps3 not withstanding so far)
it had the playsttion brand behind it.. before it came out people thought it was going to gett gaming out of the "gehto", wipe the flor with nintendo.
..any how if it wishes to compete with nintendo it needs a touch screen and sony needs to annopunce a motion dectetor in it before nintendo does.
al this should be in the next psp,m psp2 if you will. not psp 4000
hello how are you.
it is impressive because not only did they garner more than 3x the sales of any previous competitor they did so against Nintendo's fastest selling handheld ever.
A touch screen interface would probably make the multimedia aspect much more fluid. Same for the web browser as well. However I doubt they would alienate existing customers to such an extent. PSP2 however...
