Forums - Sales Discussion - Wii avalibility...

Well, again, we're discussing availability. The 15% availability number is helpful, but the rest of your post is just argumentative and off topic. When there are enough units, I'll be happy. So will the people who don't want to get ripped off by scalpers, but also don't want to wait in line outside a store to have a shot at buying one. Remember your experience waiting in line to purchase a Wii console? People are still having to wait, and that's not the gentlest introduction to gaming.

Definitely not gentle, but definitely far more interesting. :)
and becuase of that they look like no-one cares, and the hype is gone.
Hmm... Kinda like the PS3, eh? ;)

One word. Exactly. (kinda like the 360. The shipments were low and it was selling out. When they got bigger... they stopped selling out)

Over 60% said PS3 "What Handheld would you buy if the DS and PSP were 100 bucks?" 49% said PSP 51% said DS
Hahaha... So 100% of people would buy a handheld system if they were both 100 bucks? C'mon, this is clearly unscientific.

Indeed. I have to think the potential market (at any price) for the DS is *much* larger than for the PSP. Ditto the Wii vs. 360/PS3. The Nintendo systems are far more enticing and accessible to the masses (i.e. I suspect this poll, if it's remotely scientific, is being asked of existing-gamers only)

And we know from history, most people would keep their 100 bucks.

Never trust polls (in particular online polls) because they're easy to manipulate and they tend not to say much of value ... Certainly, if the PS3 was $300 or $400 its demand would be much higher but the fact is that it is not $300 or $400; the PS3 that you can find is $600! In all likelyhood the PS3 will be $600 for most of 2007, $500 for most of 2008, $400 for most of 2009, $300 for most of 2010, and finally be in the $200 range in 2011; this means that the PS3 will not be in the price range that most people buy their system at until Microsoft (after 6 years) and Nintendo (after 5 years) are setting up on releasing their new systems.

In my neighbourhood, u still can't find any wii's. So that says there are still shortages. While the netherlands never has been a big market, it is like everywhere in the world a growing market.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Wii seems to be more availible here in Sweden. But most shops still have long ques. Would be really fun to know how much we get in stock so far it seems we get the scraps that is left when The big markets has taken the lion share.
