Forums - Gaming - Wii Motion Plus will also revamp nunchuck's sensors?

It won't improve, best proof of this is that otherwise Ninty would have showed some game that highlights that feature.

However it raises the question of whether any type of software update can improve the motion sensing abilities of the remotes?

Wii Sports Resort: Jet ski???

You people don't understand the attachment is connected in thw wiimote in the same port as nunchuck is connected now?

Once you attach wm+ it makes sense to improve BOTH remotes. Man I need to mail Nintendo. We are throwing thoughts and many of us doesn't make any sense of electronics...

No you just do not understand how the technology actually works. The WM+ is another sensor being added onto the Wiimote. The sensor cannot measure the movement of the Nunchuck because that movement is independant of the new motion sensor. It is impossible for it to significantly increase the accuracy of the Nunchuck. The hardware simply does not work that way.

lol still not convinced?

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Will it be the same then?
Having both nunchuk and remote 1:1 enabled would be awesome for many games!!
I can only imagine boxing, but there might be other genres tyhat would suit well with 1:1 in both controllers....

EDIT: Yea I'm convinced... So many people claiming that, I won't say not...

Common sense.

This is correct. Elaborating on Rol's point though will require a basic understanding of how the Nunchuck and Wiimote work. The Nunchucks motion sensor is located in the part you hold. When that moves it sends a signal to the Wiimote and then to the Wii which is interpretated into in game results. The WM+ sensor connect to the cord of the Nunchuck and not the sensor. Consequently there will be no additional information sent to the Wiimote. Since no extra information is sent to the Wiimote, no more information can be sent to the Wii. As a result there can be no extra accuracy in a game.

There is a way they could improve the nunchuck, but it'd require yet another attachment, and if they tried releasing that, it'd be ridiculous and foolhardy.

The only way the nunchuck can be improved is by physically attaching a new sensor to the nunchuck, and the only way to do that in a practical manner is ridiculous. It would involve a small clip-on accelerometer and a cord to run along the nunchuck's existing cord, then plugging into the Wiimote as well.

In other words, it could be done, but it'd be stupid.

The Wii Motion Plus will improve the Wii- remote, the Nunchuck, the Nintendo DS touch Screen, and the Power Glove. You can quote me on that.

This is impossible, as there is no way in which the Power Glove could be improved.

Hates Nomura.

All Wii Motion+ is is an additional bit of motion sensing hardware, designed to work in addition to the Wiimote's current sensing. The only reason it improves the Wiimote's sensing is because it's attached to the Wiimote. It augments the Wiimote's motion sensing because it moves along with the Wiimote.

It does not move along with the nunchuck.

So what? Can't the nunchuk movements be improved just by being connected to the attachment?

Man, it gotta improve nunchuks too, it doesn't make sense not doing so. If not, we won't see a 1:1 boxing game

*cries*

Don't lose hope. 2 player 1:1 boxing could be done with 4 Wiimotes and 4 wiimotion+es

hahaha I just had to register to say what a dumb ass question this is.. really this is almost an internet classic.
