2. What do you think of the current state of the Music Industry (declining sales, illegal downloads, etc)?

me, i love Rock music, My favourite bands include Oasis, The Beatles, Queen and R.E.M and given the lack of any music in the charts that i would listen to voulantarily i dont actually care that sales are poor and everyone downloads illegaly as i wouldnt expect people to pay for the s**t that fills the charts these days.

what about everyone else?

1. Everything that's good, even country.

2. I think it's great that so many artist are able to be successful on their own with out major labels because of the internet. I think that has more to do with declining sales than illegal downloads, it's the accessibility to music has made the stuff that companies try to shove down our throats less relevant.

I prefer music that sounds like a drunk guy trying to sing something distinguishable...

The music business model needs to change, IMO. It should be focussed on making money from touring rather than from album sales. One hit wonders would quickly disappear because their lack of broad content would make going to their concert or choosing them as an opening act useless. Just like common people, they would have to stuggle early on at shit jobs, but then make better and better profits. It would also mean that they'd have to keep working to earn money (or save for retirement) like us all instead of counting on royalties. How many of you still get paid for work you did 20 years ago?

People who live off of royalties will never live like common people, they'll never do whatever common people do, they'll never fail like common people, they'll never watch their lives slide out of view and then dance and drink and screw because there's nothing else to do.

I'll listen to anything that's good. That includes classical, metal, rock, country, hip hop, mostly every genre.

You know, that inexplicable musical feeling must be on the song for me to like it, things you just don't feel in hannah montana, soulja boy and stuff.

You know what makes me really mad?

Zakk Wylde got home from school, played until it was time to go to school again and slept through the school day. I don't mean it's a good example lol, but you can see there that he loves music and he practiced a lot. Listen to him, he got his own style, he is pure technique and he gets money for his playing, and it's really earned...

Then there comes that good looking high school boy, that bought a nice colorful fender just to look cool, learned some basic chords to repeat through a damn entire song and never learn anything else, and then put together a band of people just like him and get successful and start swimming on money, fuck, that really makes me mad...
