Come on Paul Warren,do a manual settings on your PS3,perhaps you should try to input your IP address,subnet mask and gateway manually in your PS3?Maybe sometime you should try to troubleshoot on your own before you blame everything on your PS3.

I've already done all of that. The only thing I haven't done is what these sites give as solutions:

I've tried entering the dns numbers these sites give into my PS3 ie 207...222 and 207...220, and I've tried to manually put thr 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.5 in as well. The only thing I haven't tried is going into my router 198...., because I don't have a wireless router all I have is a modem.

 Note: I don't say this is all Sony or the PS3's fault.  It might be because of one of the recent updates (I know that my PS3 hasn't been able to connect since 9-4-08 and at one help site I looked at I noticed that there were more than a few people asking for help with this problem around that time).  But I think this might be kind of like an "allergy" that my PS3 has to my isp's new way of doing things (they've been working on installing fiber optic cables, and in October they switched from using static ip's to automatic connections that have month long leases on them).  As previously noted, my Sony Vaio and 360 (which I've had since March '06) have no connection problems.

Sorry about that Paul,i apologize for my mistake,if its confirm because of your PS3 hardware,i mean the wireless adaptor or something related,perhaps you should send it back to Sony before warranty expired?Since your 360 and notebook are all working fine.

      Its alright.  It is just that it is a 60 gig with full backwards compatability and smoother for PS2 games, so I hate to part with it.  Its One year warranty is up with Sony though.  I purchased another year from Wal~Mart which expires in January; however, I gave someone that receipt to keep in a safe spot, and they say they can't find it now.  I would like to try out Home and Little Big Planet.  I guess I'll just buy a router and hope configuring its settings works; however, I'm on a low income and can think of things I'd rather spend my money on.  I would hate to buy a $20.00 or more expensive wireless router (I've read on one side you need a wireless G and they seem to be more expensive), then find out that it still wouldn't work.  I would rather buy some games for my systems, The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray, a DS3, or some equiptment to run my laptop through my tv for pc games than buy a router that wouldn't work and then not be able to return it.

regardless I could, again, care less if it comes to 360 or not.
