Forums - Gaming - Commando's Review Thread

Yesterday I was doing some cleaning and I found, among my old FuncoLand lists, my old rubric for Videogame reviews along with notes for a couple games I reviewed.  I don't have the full written reviews for them but If anyone wants I can probably re-write at some point.

I use a 25 point system which I simply times the final score by four to get the x/100 score.

The purpose of this is to help me grade moreso on valid points rather than bias.

I'll use this thread to post all reviews I intend to write, so I don't make a bunch of threads about it.

I'll start by just posting the overall scores of the two games.  I'll have a Bioshock review up shortly, I kinda want to beat it a second time before finilizing it :^)

Around the Network

Extreme-G III (Gamecube) - 92/100
Defcon: 2

BloodRayne (Gamecube) - 68/100
Defcon: 3

Defcon ratings are like a quick HOT or NOT rating (lowest = 1, highest 5) that isn't impendent upon the review score but a general way of me saying whether or not it is in fact a MUST have, or Rental only.

-edit- Defcons the lowest number is most severe (i.e. hottest, so 1 is best, and 5 is not worthwhile)

Two more quick scores that I know off the top of my head.

Final Fantasy Tactics (Playstation) - 90/100
Defcon: 1
[Personal Favorite]

Final Fantasy VI (SNES) - 95/100
Defcon: 1
[Best Game ever Personal opinion]

LOL Rol, always on the spot. Yeah I had scored FFVI much earlier (about 6 years) to the development of the 25 point system. Retro reviews wont use it because the requirements are different for older games. On that note I've been playing with the idea of modifying for more recent games as well, Wii/360 games will incur different technical ... thingymaboos .. than older games. Good catch.
