 You will need 72 stars to complete the game, just figured I would add as much info as I could.  

PS - If you stop anything short of 120 you are weak! .... lol just kidding..... 

 And that is why Sonic 2 is one of the best Sonic games. The semi-2 player mode without split screen added a lot of replay value to Sonic 2. I love this direction Nintendo is taking, I miss the good old days where I played arcade games co-op with my friends. Contra 3, TMNT 4, Joe and Mac, Super Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, Final Fight, Sonic Blastman.

MG is not really a 2p game, but I think Miyamoto idea was brilliant. No one likes to sit and wait until it is your time to play, every bit of interaction is welcome. I hope that becomes the standard on platformgames.

 Btw, it wasn't very hard to collect all the stars in SM64. What is REALLY hard is clearing Metorid games with 100% secret rate...

I'll take further and say anyone who hasn't completed every Mario platformer 100% isn't a true Nintendo fan.

Another question... Will I be able to play this game with a classic controler?
