Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk live up to Tales of Symphonia?

I really enjoyed ToS, but from the screenshots it looks like the team has a lot of work ahead of them

1) the point-and-click-map will work since we've already explored the world pretty much, but it's still kinda of disappointing. :0
2) towns and backgrounds look good
3) battle and character graphics could use a lot of work

since this is more of a side-story/spinoff, I think we should be "cautiously optimistic" about it :o

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

Around the Network

Fine tune the battles and camera for multiplayer fights, expand on the world(s), push the graphics a little more. Even though it is cel shaded, it would be nice if the game looked something like the opening sequence from Dragon Ball Z 2.

Other than that I am sure the game will be stellar. Bigger and Better

Which is probably why the characters and monsters still look better in TOS than the new one. ~_~

Are you asking about sales or about quality?

Obviously not, it's not a sequel it's a Gaiden. That means that not as much time or work is being put into it. Granted, Tales spinoffs turn out good anyway, people just don't realize that RK isn't on the scope ToS was, purposely.
