Unexpectedly the two remaining protagonist mercenaries, Hana and Glas, are pitted against one another because they have been tricked. They are literarily pointing guns at each others faces and I had to decide which one died. Either way, the survivor goes on to fight a different end boss and gets their own unique ending. That was my biggest holy shit moment from a game. Having to choose like that because they are both really likable characters I had been playing through the whole game with so I had an attachment to the two. I was totally like WTF.

 

You should have played throught the game on hard. You get a third option.

i agree with for me this was the best holy shit moment in a game. and when rose dies in legend of the dragoon too.

That one was definitly a.... "uhhh.... what the hell" moment.

That's a good one. Hard for me to think of any right now, probably because I've had so much stuff spoiled for me over the years. (Not just games)

Fighting Giygas in Earthbound was pretty crazy, even with the Player's Guide that came with the NA version I was still caught completely off-guard.

Lot of the sanity effects in Eternal Darkness were really good at screwing with my head. First one I hit was when my character just exploded and I was like "What the fuck happened? I step on a mine or something?" then they just respawn unharmed and I knew I was being messed with. =P

the last boss in Silent Hill 2... I figured it out, but it was still disturbing on a personal level... and a true wtf moment for those who didn't get it through out the game

- When you realize you've been played in MGS and actually activated the nuke for Liquid.

- In Starcraft, when Infested Kerrigan comes out of the crysalis.
