Hmm so, every time I try to get online with CoD4, everything is a bit freezy and when I press find match all I see is "Downloading Game Settings." It stays at this screen and nothing else happens, so I can't actually enter games.

I don't think the problem is my PS3's online, because I can connect to the shopping channel thing and download game demos and such still... Migh this be a problem with the game disk?

It randomly does this to me- sometimes it works and I can get on, sometimes it doesn't work at all for the day. Any help?

Do you know what your NAT Type is?

Could be the game itself. For some reason I always had issues with CoD4 online on PS3, major lag and constant disconnects even with my great internet connection and NAT Type 2, so I gave up and traded it.

nope, don't even know what that means...

I think its just happening. It happened to many people back December 07.

How to find out your NAT Type

To find out your PS3s NAT Type simply go to:

Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Test

You'll be disconnected from the PSN while you perform your test. Once complete you'll know which NAT Type your PS3 is.

Type 2 it says, though I think it might be the game disk because now it's just freezing the whole PS3...

this sometimes happened to me, i just turned the ps3 off if it got this bad and it usually fixed it, i think its just too much traffic so to speak on the broadband in our area

Restart your ps3. I had this problem a couple of times, will probably sort itself out really
