I'm still waiting for "that" Rare powerhouse on the 360!

They know how to exploit everything a system can offer. You guys remember Star Fox Adventures, Donkey Kong Country, Conker's Bad Fur Day and many more? ^^

The new Banjo game looks amazing. And the worlds are huge.

I agree, but there's the usual framedrop when you go on the water and all, which makes me sad. :(

It's pretty much an established fact by now that PS360 developers care more about flashy screenshots than a high and stable framerate (unlike Wii developers particularly Nintendo).

It's quite ironic considering the PS3 and 360 are the more technically advanced consoles.

Not quite this time seraphic lol, what happened? did your computer freeze or somthing when you clicked on refresh?

I have no idea, lol somehow your post made it ahead of mine... >_>

Perhaps your ISP was lying about the speed of your broadband so that they could tie you down to a contract and therefore you wouldn't jump ship?

My ISP sucks, AOL in the UK has gone downhill BIG TIME.

No.

The Playstation 2 is just about tapped out....But it's taken 8 YEARS to do that. Why expect the X360 to have it's power tapped in 3?

Are X360 games getting 'saturated' - to the point that graphics increases may be minimal? We're probably getting there in 09. But the fact is, if a team wants to improve on every other game, the horsepower still exists to improve.

It'd be incredibly asinine to say that it's reached it's peak in 3 years...Given the knowledge that God of War 2 came out 6 years into the PS2's lifespan.

As far as graphical power, the PS3 isn't far off from the 360. The PS3 only has a slight edge there. As far as space on the disc...well thats another story.

I thought we weren't talking about the Playstation 3 in a X360 post?

At any rate, you are correct, but the last time I checked, texture processing (the quality of textures) was entirely due to the horsepower of the system, and not disc space. Disc space, last I checked, meant 'bigger' in terms of how much content can be put into a game, rather than 'better' being framerates, textures, shaders, AI and the like.

Can you put more textures on a BR-DVD? Sure. But if the PS3 can't actually render them, then the point is moot.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

@Ron- Lol wtf, H-Telcom would'nt do that, ... RoadRunner would thoug...

And wtf, i didnt even know the UK had AOL... 0_o

Do not forget textures are by far the most compressed data on a game. Something like 100:1. Having textures ready to use (without need decompressing) must mean something.
Back on topic, all current consoles shall see better graphics. Games will keep using better engines, look at Gears 2, used an improved version of the UE3 and was noticeably better than Gears 1.

In answer to your question, Alan Wake and Halo Wars (particularly the environments) are the titles that look the to push the 360 the most in '09.

In my opinion, neither cosole's exclusives will be the best looking title however (though I'll give heavy rain a fighting chance), and instead it will be Fight Night Round 4 that will be prettiest game for both the 360 and PS3 in '09.

AOL UK= America online UK........ Maybe its always been crap here too , hard for me to say, i've always been with AOL (and for me it really was fun for a period of time, easy to navigate, tonnes of features ect), but my patience has worn very thin as features have been dropped and it gets less user friendly by the week, i will be looking for a new ISP in the new year.
