In what? 8 months a single game(an unbundled game, that is in a 17 year old franchise) has passed then entire gamecube userbase in others.... an amazing accomplishment.

Amazing! It definately deserves it too! It´s one of my favorite games this generation so far, just pure addictive fun. You can´t beat fun gameplay and a formula that works.

And to think that some critics were unkind to it when it arrived, goes to show that you shouldn´t trust their opinion sometimes.

It will pass N64 too (6.75M) probably by late March, early June at latest (Pessimistic: 5.5M ETY, 60K/Week = 21 weeks into the year, optimistic: 6M ETY, 75K weekly = 10 weeks in).

Then NES + SNES (8.56M + 8.58M) should fall sometime too. I expect MKWii to be at minimum 7.5M before holiday next year (pessimistic), and with 1M in Nov + Dec (9 weeks), that would leave it at ~ 8.5M. I believe that it will take ~ 12 months from now before MKWii > any Nintendo console (other than Wii of course) in Others.

It should > MKDS in 2-3 weeks (180K behind).

MKWii is the 7th best selling console game in Others, by VGC data. Could be 4th (3rd without Wii Sports) by the end of the year (needs to beat 5.86M)

Edit: Could be 2nd actually (3rd with Wii Sports), as it is only 20K behind Wii Fit, and could beat it.

Lifetime should beat any previous gen console game (8-35M, GTA SA), but probably not all previous gen games (9.7M Pokemon Red/Blue).

Oh, and by the end of the year, it should be like this.

MKWii > SMK + MK64 + MK:DD combined

Or in short, MKWii > all previous console MKs combined.

Edit 2: ZOMG! MKWii was adjusted up in Americas! Yay, I've been claiming this for months now (my only real undertracking/overtracking claim). It is less than 300K behind GTA IV Ps3 + X360 combined! That would mean it is 300K behind from > any Ps360 game (WW). Which makes it the 4th best selling game combined (but just a few 100K behind Wii Fit!)
