All right, back to here (curse you, Bod).

So, what does this mean for the Dragon Quest series? How will Nintendo try to push this? Will they try to make it as big as Final Fantasy?

As big as Pokemon?

Where will it end?

It probably won't be close to any of those in the west (especially not Pokemon. What are you, crazy?). Now, the DS game could beat any previous installment in the series, and probably each FF13 version, but it won't beat the best selling FFs, nor the worst selling Pokemons.

If FF decreases a lot this gen, DQ could be almost as big though (WW).

Not as crazy as this news!

Seriously though I wasn't serious with the Pokemon thing.

And if Dragon Quest IX is huge, Dragon Quest X could be even huge-er.

What if DQ IX is small?

Let me be the first to say it.

Ahem.

DRAGON QUEST X WILL BE HUGE.

When I complete Chrono Trigger (SNES version) + Final Fantasy IV (DS remake), I'm restarting the Dragon Warrior/Quest series. I've never played beyond 2, so it's going to be an interesting trek.

Partially because I don't have VII and VIII.

Good point, in fact I would bet that it is small. After all DQ IX is a DS game, so it's small in physical size and in terms of storage space used.

Don't take this too serious.

I think DQ X might be so huge you have to buy a second Wii to make it fit.

I really dont know why will Nintendo pay for the advertisement of a third party game

I know. I mean, just because it might do for the Wii what FFVII did for the PS1...

Actually, that's a pretty damn good reason. And I'm thinking that's exactly what Nintendo is going for.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Which would be great. Also, I think Nintendo is trying to get the new userbase to try different types of games. The more types of games they like, the more software sells. Nintendo gets money not only for 1st party, but every 3rd party title that sells too.

This is both terrifying and awesome: Dragon Quest is hard, but it's also as pure as JRPGs get.

Dragon Quest as a bridge game is a terrifying thought.

And bridge might be a new game at the casinos.

Oh, man, this is gonna' be great.

We will know if DQ has gone too far if you can't exchange chips for money at real casinos, only items :P

No, that will be when we know it has gone exactly far enough.

Well if there is any developer that can get the west to buy Japanese things... it's Nintendo.
