The past year every game I've played has failed to really impress or draw me in, the closest was Far Cry 2. The only conclusion I can come to is that I watch and read too many previews of games. Do you think because games get so much pre release hype these days (arguably more than movies) that it is hurting the experience of playing a game for the first time. I remember ff7 was so good because I had no idea what it was about and same with Zelda ocarina of time. Maybe it is just because I'm older.

What do you guys think? Are games as good as when you first played them?

its true but thats why games make most of their money in the first 4 weeks, well PSXbox games anyway.

Other way round for me. Perhaps because I tend to avoid the obviously hyped games.

Both Endless Ocean and Wii Music have been fresh, new and surprising this year.

And Okami on Wii.
