Give me the revised hardware (falcon), and the 360 will be sitting on a shelf at my house.

my prediction it's announced at TGS with a major price cut and/or a mojor bundlein..... Why TGS??? because apparently nintendo is not there.... and it would be the best place to drop a bomb on the market.... especially to touch japanese people.... if they have as much people at their stands than last year compare to PS3.... it could be a really good holiday for XB....

and it's not like they have any choice anyway... so it's either they crack two bombs during the next two convention or they put themself in jeopardy.... so I don't see how a company like MS in the situation they are in could miss that.... the only big issue now is how the public is going to react to the RRoD situation

well i guess we can all expect a 50.00 Wii price-cut sooner now, if the 360 starts selling better because of this then you can bet Nintendo wont hesitate.

Why in the name of god would Wii cut price just because the 360 is selling more?  If the Wii is selling out there is no way for them to move any more units.  Sold out is sold out.  The Wii will see a price cut when and only when it is not selling out anymore and even then it will probably be a few months after it stops selling out.

The problem is that they still have a supply of the old hardware out there so I won't be buying one until I can be sure I'm getting the new one. Whether that be to wait a few months or if there's a way to tell by looking at the box. Even then, if they still have the same shitty soldering, a hardware update might not be enough to fix the problems so I may just wait a few months to hear if the the new one is fairing better.

To cash in my CC rewards points for $300 in Circuit City gift cards to purchase a 360 or not: That is the question.

Wii only needs a pricecut when it is seriously threatened. I think there may be a chance of that happening during Q2-Q3 of next year when Sony releases its big guns. A $100 cut ( that Nintendo can probablly afford) could easily counter anything the others offer.

I would imagine Nintendo would go with more like a $50 pricecut and add in another bundled game or some free points. And probably not until around this time next year. Also probably see a $20-$30 DS pricecut with Brain Age bundled.

well if they fuck the new version they don't deserve to be in the race anyway..... what would be inteligent would be to ship the falcon with halo 3 or something like that so people can be sure the pack is a falcon..... or once the falcon is readdy to ship.... ship it and recall the rest of the old ones.. but you are right.... they fucked up and they better move their ass fast now....

P.S.: paranoia agent is a effing great jap annimation show

Nice news... Maybe I'll even buy X360

True fighters don't wear socks.

I would recommend waiting until its well known that the Falcon units have saturated the market. This uncertain transition period is perhaps not the best to pick up a 360.

If it were your only console, I'd say be cautious. If you are playing other consoles and have backups to play in the event that something does go wrong, I'd say jump in. I did and mine broke. I'm not bitter because I knew going in that I had a good chance of it happening. It doesn't hurt that I have a Wii, a PS2 and DS at home, though.
