I actually agree with the last line of your review, there is no reason to get a PS3 right now. Why get it now when you can wait until next year when the console will probably be cheaper and by then there will be some solid titles in either the bargain bin or the $30 range and more solid titles out or coming out soon. I see very little reason to get a PS3 this year.

Who the hell would wait and sit on their ass while others are playing.

Heavenly
Ratchet & Clank
UnReal Tournament 3
Uncharted
GT5 Prologue
Assasins Creed
Need for Speed
Haze
CoD4
Rock Band

I see very little reason for anyone to ever listen to you as far as any comment on the PS3.

60GB PS3 with 5 BR movies for $499, no better time to buy a PS3 then right now.

Sigh!

Another blind fanboy !

The ps3 just sold 4 mln, so the majority is waiting.

I wouldn't buy a ps3 now to play games, which aren't out yet.
They could be delayed or just not worth it, it's a safer bet to wait for reviews.

The 60GB offer for 499$ might sound tempting to some, but just applies for the usa.
The 5 BR giveaways aren't first-rate either.

But if you just want to play for example ff13 and you wait for the purchase,
you might safe another 100$.

It is a gaming machine and I think you want it to play games. Look at the games that are available right now and coming out in the near future. If they interest you and you think the price is ok for them, get it. Otherwise, I would wait.

And another tip, don't listen to the extreme fanboys. In any direction. If a post says "BUY IT!!!!" or "DON'T BUY IT!!!!" with those exclamation marks (the guys is really trying to force his opinion), just ignore the post. It is better.

If you are going to buy a PS3, I recommend taking advantage of this deal through Sony. http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2007/08/06/sony-wants-to-give-you-a-new-credit-card-and-a-350-ps3

It requires opening a credit card account with Sony, but you save $150 extra bucks on top of the 5 free movies. You can always cancel the card after you have paid it off if you don't want the thing.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Are any of these games actually out yet?  I'm interested in a PS3 also, just not at current pricing and game selection since I have a 360, PS2, and Wii.  But your point of asking why people why they would sit on their ass while they could be playing the above games is an extraordinary display of irony since most or all aren't out now...

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

That is EXACTLY what I am wondering too. Every single game you listed is not yet available apart from Need for Speed - and I bet you weren't referring to Carbon. I just ran a search for these games on Amazon.com and Sonystyle. Amazon was better - at least they tell you that you can preorder the game or be notified when it's available. Sonystyle just returns 0 results.

So that obviously begs the question: Why the hell are you waiting and sitting on YOUR ass while others are playing if you so boldly state YOURSELF:

"Who the hell would wait and sit on their ass while others are playing"?

Edit: kn, you beat me to the sucker punch. I guess we can say it was a one-two.

First of all, not everyone has to have it now now now. Some of us were taught patience by our parents.

Second of all, most of the games you listed aren't out yet and a lot of the games on that list don't necessarily appeal to everyone.

And of course you see very little reason to listen to me, I am someone who looks at the situation logically and weighs the pros and cons of purchasing a console before I jump in. And you are someone who thinks...well here lets just quote it...

"Its like breathing air there is no choice, there only is the PS3!"

You're a fanboy through and through and you make no bones about it, so of course you think people should buy right now.

As for the BR movies, they are a good deal if you are buying for a BR player but if you want a gaming machine I see no reason to be enticed by something you don't want.

Waiting until next year is a prudent course of action for anyone worried about price, or for anyone concerned about having enough interesting games. Because next year there will be lots of games and the price will probably be lowered again. So you will be getting the exact same experience but you will be paying less. I actually fit into both of these categories personally.

To Each Man, Responsibility

Wii owners owning them selfs, priceless.

Sqrl said "I see very little reason to get a PS3 this year."

Thats what he said, i gave him a list of why "this year" is a GOOD time to buy.

As far as buing a PS3 right now.

I said "60GB PS3 with 5 BR movies for $499, no better time to buy a PS3 then right now."

Its the best deal on a PS3 since well ever., and you get the PS3 with the best backwards compability. And if money is the issue you can sale the BR movies and you got a PS3 for near around $400

Next time maybe read the whole post before you respond.
