Must have had a great week last week.

VGC numbers say only 250k ww sold, and it seems to be sold, and not shipped to retailers.

Very strange...

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift passes one million sales

Sony's PlayStation 3 racer MotorStorm: Pacific Rift has sold over one million units worldwide, according to the company's Worldwide Studios boss Michael Denny.

The sequel to the popular PlayStation 3 launch title was released at the beginning of November, entering the charts at number 29 in the UK and then falling the following week to 35.

But despite the crowded release schedule during one of the busiest months at retail which kept it out of the top ten, the title has broken the one million milestone, and Evolution Studios is already at work on new downloadable content for the game.

"We're pleased with the high Metacritic rating of 82 per cent and it's sold over a million units worldwide," said Denny, in an interview published today.

The original MotorStorm became a flagship title for the console in its early months, and has since become part of Sony's budget Platinum range for PS3.

seems unlikely.

NPD doesn't have it in their numbers and it fell of all european charts quite fast.

they just stuffed the retailers with a lot of copies.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe its done a million at retail. Almost certainly shipped a million, which is sales for the studio/Sony though...

You mean that there are 750k units on the shelves? Unlikely.

Online is full most of the time, so its hard to believe the 250k sales

Glad to hear, it's an amazing game. So it's destined to become at least a million seller.

The game is yet to launch for Japan and the PS3 will be officially released in new countries next year, like South America, hope it will do even better than the original Motorstorm did for the long run. It deserves to!

IMO this game is severely underrated compared to other racers.



Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."
