Those PS3 games are awesome games and a great lineup. I'm not going to disagree. But you cant say at the very least M$ still holds it's own in 09 even without the unnanounced 9 exclusives.

M$ has the likes of Star Ocean 4, Alan Wake, Killer Instint 3, Halo Wars, Halo ODST, Kingdom Under Fire 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Huxley, Mass Effect 2 and Cry On that we know about. Also possibly Forza 3 and the announced 2009 Lionhead game which remains nameless. Hardly not full of win.

You know what I love about reading these posts about end year/life/ect predictions is when i look at the VG$ that the poster has.

The bigger the sony fanboy, their vg$ amount is super negative. Hmm makes me want to believe in your predictions, lol.

But I would say Wii first easy. I believed that PS3 was gonna outshine 360 by like maybe 5-10 million around September. But then these last few months with what 360 has done and with just the fact of how darn slow the hd consoles sell throughout the year (non holiday) I just can't see the PS3 catching it.

People always assume the PS3 gonna all of sudden go Wii numbers, but no way.

So your saying that Sony only cut the price because they made a huge mistake thinking people would pay $600. So they had to cut prices $200 in less than 1 year to be competitive. Ahh and MS had to cut the 360 a total of $100 over nearly 3 years and MS is the desperate one. I get it.

As for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  It is set. Even when the PS3 was $50 closer to the Pro and $$80 closer to the arcade it wasnt gaining that much.  The lead the PS3 was so small that it was able to be wiped out in a couple of months and looks to end up about 1 million behind the 360 for 2008.  Certainly with the PS3 not cutting price for at least the first 3 months of 2009 the 360 will have an 8 million console lead before the next event that could change PS3 sales and again put the PS3 ahead week by week.  What happens when the 360 drops $50 next fall (if MS feels threatened)?  I see 2008 all over again. PS3 goes into 2009 holiday still double the price of the cheapest 360.

I just don't see how the PS3 can make up the 7 million deficit. MS will do everything to keep competitive, and they are in a far better position to do so. Since launch, the gap has gone up and down a little, but it nothing has really changed. I have a feeling next year will go the same way. I think this year pretty much sealed the PS3's fate at 3rd place, barring an unprecedented comeback.

Yes. Its been two years since all consoles were released and the sales trajectories will remain the same throughout the generation. For a while, I thought Sony might pull ahead of Microsoft but they blew it time after time.. so this generation is pretty much set in stone.
